The Magic of Motown and More opened in the lounge at the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa in 2012, and the response was so grand that they needed to be moved to a much larger showroom to accomodate the crowd.
The singers of The Magic of Motown have their roots in gospel singing in the Midwest. Recognizing the influence that Motown singing had on American music, Gregg Austin formed a group in 1977 to pay homage to the sounds of Motown. The group was initially asked to perform at the Flamingo in Las Vegas by Barbara Kelly, who was at the time the entertainment director for the casino.
Following their show at the Flamingo, Austin and his group joined "The American Superstars" show at the Stratosphere with their tribute to The Temptations. Now they've moved back to the Santa Fe so that they can get the crowd going with the magic of song and dance.
