A singer, guitarist, bassist, songwriter, and composer, Roger Waters is best known for his career with Pink Floyd. As their leader and primary songwriter, many of Pink Floyd's symbols were his idea including the Pink Floyd Pigs and the marching hammers. He is credited with being the mind behind the majority of the band's songs and concept albums.
After Pink Floyd he Waters had a successful solo career. This produced three studio albums and one of the largest concerts ever, The Wall Concert in Berlin in 1990. In 2005, Waters released an opera, Ira, and joined Pink Floyd at the Live 8 concert in London for the first public performance including Waters in 24 years.
His three solo albums have been acclaimed Gold by the RIAA, and his opera, Ira, reached #1 on both the UK and U.S. Classical Charts. Roger has also been inducted into the U.S. and UK Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Pink Floyd, and received a "Media Event of the Year" award for mounting The Wall Live in Berlin.
