Natalie Maines, Emily Robison, and Martie Maguire are the Dixie Chicks. They formed in Dallas, Texas in 1989 and released their first independent album, "Thank Heaven For Dale Evans," in 1990. Their second independent album, "Little Ol' Cowgirl," was released in 1992 and a third independent album, "Shouldn't A Told You That," followed in 1993.
The Dixie Chicks signed with Monument Records (Sony Imprint Label) in 1997 and their first major label album, "Wide Open Spaces" was released in 1998. "Fly" was released in 1999 and "Home" their third major label album was released in 2002 under their own imprint Open Wide Records.
In 2003 they released their first live album "Top Of The World (Live)" and two DVDs, "An Evening With The Dixie Chicks" and "Top Of The World Tour Live". 2006 saw their fourth major label album, "Taking The Long Way."
The Dixie Chicks are the highest selling female group in any genre. They hold the distinction of being the only country group in history and the only female group of any genre to earn back-to-back Diamond Awards signifying 10 million in record sales.
