Vocalist/actress Sarah Brightman was born in England in 1960 and got her start in musical theater at an early age, making her London debut when she was only 13. In the 1980s she appeared in the original cast of Cats, Phantom of the Opera and other Andrew Lloyd Webber productions, achieving international fame in the theater community. Brightman was briefly married to Lloyd Webber in the late 80s. In 1989 Brightman made her debut as a solo performer with The Songs That Got Away; over the next few years she divided her time between musical theater and solo albums, typically singing show tunes and torch songs. Her latest album, Time to Say Goodbye, came out in 1997.
